Daniel Ninsiima

Founder and Managing Director

 

Built on his own farming experience, Daniel founded m-Omulimisa in 2014. He is a former Food Security Fellow with the U.S. Department of State Food Security at Oklahoma State University and a former ICT Fellow with the Japanese International Co-operation Agency (JICA) in Kobe, Japan. He has trained agricultural extension officers and farmers from countries including Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Rwanda, Jamaica, and many more on integrating ICTs in agriculture extension services. He holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media from Michigan State University with a focus on ICTs for Development (ICT4D). Before that, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Makerere University, Uganda. He has helped many organizations to implement mobile applications for smallholder farmers in Uganda, such as Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Vancouver, Canada.

Linlin Liang

Director of Business Development and Communication

With an advertising background, Linlin Liang joined m-Omulimisa in 2014 as a founding partner. She has worked on the fundraising roles at many international and domestic non-profit organizations, including Kiva and Grameen America. Her experience and skills in fundraising and communication make her an impact storyteller in the m-Omulimisa team. In addition, she has done international development fieldwork in India, Tanzania, and Uganda. She holds a Master's degree in Information and Media from Michigan State University with a focus on ICTs for Development (ICT4D). Prior to that, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Advertising at Xiamen University, China.


Richard Miiro

Director of Program and Strategies

 

Dr. Richard Miiro recently joined m-Omulimisa as the Director of Program and Strategies. He is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Agricultural Sciences at Makerere University, Uganda. He obtained his Doctoral degree from Iowa State University with a research focus on rural development for food security, gender empowerment, and agricultural sustainability. With years of consulting and research experience in the agricultural sector, he has facilitated and consulted many agriculture-based development projects, including CARE International, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Cooperatives and Rural Development (MAFCRD) of the Republic of South Sudan, and Japanese International Development Agency.
